Join us for a leisurely post Mother‘s Day ride to Old Soul Co. in the village of Fair Oaks for a coffee break. Jason Griest, co-owner, has graciously invited us to his coffee house. I‘ll announce a couple of discounted menu items for the group at the start of the ride. RWGPS routes are below.

The Roseville Dry Creek Greenway East trail grand opening was today, May 9th. I developed (with the help of Peter Webb) a route starting at Maidu Park that routes us the full length of the Miners Ravine trail and connects with this new Dry Creek Greenway East trail. This new trail will bring us back to Maidu Park from what was the end of the trail at Darling Way.
We‘ll depart the Miner‘s Ravine trail at East Street and wind our way to MoJoe‘s in west Roseville for coffee and/or breakfast. I‘ve arranged for outdoor shaded seating for us.

South Hills Shopping Center
Ostensibly named after the nearby Tallac Village neighborhood, today‘s destination at 60th St. and 14th Ave. is actually in the Tahoe Park area just to the north. Village Drive In is one of three old-school roadside diners within easy riding distance of Barrio (the others being East Sac‘s Cookie‘s Drive In and Whitey‘s Jolly Kone in old West Sac). All offer similar fare that‘s neither a gourmet nor a particularly healthful throwback to the days when nobody on this side of the Pacific even heard of tofu. In addition to the typical shakes and burgers, it‘s rumored that Village offers some vegetarian options, although I could not confirm this. But who goes there for brussels sprouts anyway? Since the drive in opens at 11, the ride leaves at 10. Ride starts from the NE corner of the parking lot. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/45578293
Note: Registration deadline is 12 hours prior to the ride start.

While you‘ll find the typical coffee/tea/pastry shop fare such as mochas, lattes, cappuccinos and such here, Chaii Cafe is anything but typical. This newcomer to the local coffeehouse scene, located in a former Starbucks at 65th St. amd Broadway, has really upped the game. Chaii is a place for discovering the most exotic spins on the old standbys, such as fruit chais, milk chais, Indian chais, lattes, mochas and bubble teas. A small but diverse snack selection includes bagels, Malaysian paratha and even tacos. Give the strawberry mint chai, blue passion chai or red velvet frappe a try and you‘ll never be satisfied with plain ol‘ Starbucks again. Ride starts from the NE corner of the parking lot. House of Mules, Folsom. (Park and start at the far end of the Dos Coyotes building near the trail.)
UPDATE: This week‘s start time is 9:00AM due to the warm weather... The ride is a loop with no mid-point stop, but optional lunch at Dos Coyotes or (?) after the ride. Route: *FRA ER GN 24 Trail, https://ridewithgps.com/routes/36027835, 24 miles, 1200 feet of climbing. In the tradition of Folsom Roundabout, you can ride from House of Mules to the Fish Hatchery and back before or after the core ride and record 31 miles. There is no route sheet for this additional loop. More loops may be added at the discretion of the Ride Leader.
5 Points. Park along Arden Way side away from Arden entrance.
Breakfast ride to Country Waffle Sunrise Blvd. Join me for 25.5-mile ride to Country Waffle for breakfast. This ride has 718 feet of climbing and a mostly downhill ride back to the start. The more experienced riders who want a longer ride or a more challenging ride can download a different route from the club library and meet us for breakfast at Country Waffle. I will be sweeping the 25.5-mile route so if you decide on a longer route be sure to ride with a friend. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/20788045
