Today's ride is in the border triangle where we will cycle through the endless expanse of the Backa (Danube Swabian region). Small, dreamy, farming villages, bright yellow rapeseed fields, and endless agricultural expanses will line our route from Croatia to Serbia to Hungary. On the first section to Bezdan, we will share the road with motorists but beyond the Hercegszantos border crossing it becomes quiet and we cycle through idyllic nature reserves.
The Karapancsai is a former Habsburg hinting ground with meadows and forests. Our cycle path along the dam leads through the Danube floodplains of the Nemzeti National Park. After the ferry ride to Mohacs, there's still enough tie for a quick detour to the Mohacs Memorial, commemorating the Battle of Mohacs.
