On this route you *can* have your druthers--Druthers Coffee Shop, that is. This relatively new corner spot in the Sutter Park housing development is small and spartan, but there's a bit of patio seating outside and a beautifully landscaped commons-type park across the street with benches. Offerings include the typical coffee selections plus chai, and a very atypical sweet potato waffle in three varieties--plain, peaches & cream and coffee cake--plus occasional seasonal variations such as pear. The route traverses the downtown grid and McKinley Village before looping around the top side of East Sac, and returns via Elmhurst, North Oak Park, Curtis Park and Land Park.
