This route departs at 10am from the Diamond Springs trailhead. If you never rode the El Dorado trail, please arrive early to pre-view the ride and Q&A. The route goes to Apple Mountain Golf Course (for a comfort stop) and then return to Placervile's Sweetie Pie Bakery for our food destination. The return to the start is a downhill stretch. Overall, most of the climbing is on the way up, with a brisk downhill on the return. Please download the RWGPS on your phone due to spotty cell service. The GPS will direct you from Sacramento into the town of El Dorado via Highway 50 and Pleasant Valley Road. Turn left onto Oriental Street at the “Welcome to El Dorado” sign. Stay to the left at the Y and follow the gravel road. At the T, turn left to the parking lot.
