Schedule
The Sacramento Bike Hikers is the oldest continually active cycling club in the Sacramento area, founded in 1968. The club's focus is on recreational cycling and touring.
The Ride Schedule
The Club schedules a variety of rides throughout the year. We attempt to provide for all abilities and interests. Many rides are held on the American River Bike Trail, a beautiful pathway that follows the American River from Old Sacramento to Beal's Point at Folsom Lake. Non-members are always welcome, and helmets are mandatory on all club rides. The Sacramento Bike Hikers publish a quarterly Ride Schedule, which provides for year-round cycling. Rides include holiday rides, summer evening rides, weekday rides, and special club rides. Non-members are invited to attend rides and club meetings to get a feel for the club, without obligation. In addition to various day rides the club hosts several overnight tours throughout the year.
Cycling Community
The Sacramento Bike Hikers support many other cycling-related organizations throughout the year by providing member support and financial support. (The club supports Eppie's Great Race, KVIE Channel 6, SABA and many other local organizations.) The Sacramento Bike Hikers also put on the Party Pardee Century for the enjoyment of local area cyclists.
Monthly General Membership Meeting
Monthly membership meetings provide club business updates, open discussion on club activities and policies, and feature speakers on subjects of interest. Meetings are held at 7:00 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month. Club meetings are open to all. For details on upcoming club meetings, please check the Ride Schedule.
Membership Information
There are two types of membership in The Bike Hikers: individual and family. An individual membership is $15 per year and family memberships (2 adults and children under 18) are $20 per year. As a member, you will receive the Ride Schedule mailed to your home. You will also be eligible to earn mileage for all club rides which counts toward annual mileage awards. There is an annual Awards Banquet where the top mileage earners for the year are honored. Membership application forms are also available in each Ride Schedule.
